jam

First day of semester 2 and first lecture was at 9am.

I was waiting for bus at the bus stop along Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 at around 7:30am, noticed this girl in red boarded a taxi after a boy alighted.

So the road was all super duper jammed up from Ave 6 to Marymount Road, then Lornie Road.. (am I listing the whole route to NUS?) So this bus 74 driver was damn smart, at the flyover before Japanese Association the bus is supposed to go straight towards Adam Road, but the whole stretch was very jammed up, so what did this driver do was he sped at the left-most lane (which is leading to PIE Jurong) then he tried to squeeze the double decker into the next lane, and he succeeded, gaining at least 5 cars' length. Clap clap clap. Wait till you see bus drivers in Hong Kong and Taiwan... Hong Kong bus drivers are like racing Initial D, whereas Taiwanese bus drivers are like organized wolf packs.

Ok back to Singapore. So I alighted at Bukit Timah Road to change to bus 151. Guess what, at the bus stop I saw that girl in red again, who boarded the taxi earlier on at Ang Mo Kio Ave 6, waiting for 151.

So what is the lesson in this story? There is more than one path to the same destination, but as long as you are happy, it doesn't matter.

  • it also can mean that there are things that we can control, and things that are beyond our control.

Can't understand why she didn't take the cab all the way to NUS...
