fuel for thought

That's Spinelli Coffee's motto. Indeed coffee is a fuel for thought.

Physics lecture wasn't boring, trust me, but I just couldn't concentrate. From within LT7 I could even hear the sound of C-130 flying overhead -_-" I think there was just too much information for us to digest, and saturation point was reached. So I was dying for a cup of coffee during the 5 minutes break.

I was looking suspiciously at the antique dispenser machine behind LT7. Hmm... if I choose coffee, will it spurt out greese or some nuclear waste?? Better safe than sorry, so I went to the newly opened Olive Cove. Wow, $1 for a cup of Boncafe, I remember the dispenser at Arts Fac sells at 40cents. So I wandered off to Block EA to the welcoming sign of a coffee dispenser. 40cents~

Ok this time round it's hot coffee, not cold coffee with ice ~_~" But it's Boncafe, not Nescafe. I have something to say: even cold 50cents Nescafe tastes better than hot 40cents Boncafe. Brand does matter afterall.

Well, guess I needed caffein more than the good taste (or just the name "coffee" strikes fear among Zee monsters) I stayed awake for the rest of the Physics lecture, but what's the use? I didn't understand the first part, how to connect it to the second half?

(I got a paper-cut from my Physics notes... that is like so freaky)

  • lectures.. after some time.. tend to get boring.. either you dun understand wad the hell the lecturer is speakin of.. or the topic's really easy..

for me.. it's the former.. so sometimes.. i rather read textbooks than to listen to the lecturer talk crap in lectures.. hahaha..

Just take for example.. there's this lecturer.. maths lecturer.. always say.. this this this.. then after that, will say.. but it's not true at all.. so all the theorems that he introduced to us.. all wrong.. i was like wad the hell.. so wad do i learn in the end?? nothing.. only understand that all the theorems are wrong.. so who's right?? hahaha..

  • ur lecture notes are warning u tat u'd better concentrate on the lecture... if not they'd do another papercut... one of those more complicated papercuts with pictures in them... *raises eyebrow*

  • dj niwde: the one who is not left, is right. Maybe all your lecturer wants is you all to pay attention. Ever heard of the story of the teacher dipping his finger into a beaker of urine, then lick his another finger?? My electrical engineering lecturer is most happening, he explains the easy stuffs in details and just briefly go through the tough parts. They say even he himself ain't sure of the difficult portions, that's why. Well, self study is a must, can't expect to be spoon-fed now.

tstar: usually we won't notice papercut until we see blood, but this time round I expected it the moment I cut myself, when no blood was seen. For a moment I thought the cut is on my scar, kinda disturbing thought. Err... complicated papercuts, you mean tattoo? (eek!)

  • Don't know if I told you before, I once cut my finger 3 times on the same spot with a pair scissors.. That's scary.
A papercut tattoo would be nice =D Then when people ask where you got that nice mini-tattoo on your finger, you could answer, "oh, my physics notes gave it to me when it was angry, nothing much you know."

  • i dun expect to be spoon fed.. now that i am in the uni.. just tat hor.. all theorems to him is not true.. and he goes on blabbering about his own theorem.. and proving that all the theorems are wrong.. though i understand his intentions.. well.. i guess it's like.. no point at all lor.. why teach us something that we're not going to be tested?? make us copy so much.. and then tell us tat it's wrong.. and not tested.. kinda funny..

nowadays, i do more research than study.. notes given to us are pretty little.. the rest.. we do our own research.. so in a way.. we understand better..

i'n not sure if you agree with me this.. the main purpose of studyin now.. is to pass exams well enough.. not to examine how you can pass exams well.. keep researching on tat.. and you will never be able to pass exams.. just study what you have to and pass your exams.. right?? if i dun make sense let me know.. cuz i think it's easier to explain in chinese.. which i'm lazy to click on the program and type it out.. ehhehehe..

  • I fully understand what you mean, edwin. That's reality

  • im not very sure.. but somehow or rather.. after understanding some students in singapore.. i realised that a lot of people are really into the rat race.. and don't make time for themselves.. in australia.. no matter how busy i am.. i will always try to find time to be with myself.. meaning.. be at peace with myself.. relax.. listen to music.. watch dvd.. all these things.. not sure leh.. maybe u can post something on this.. and then i'll comment again.. hehehe..

  • I did post something about spending quality time with family.. hmm.. maybe the next one should be on spending quality time on our own. But then, I think I did talk about it before as well...

I'll think of something, if I have time aside from schoolwork (ironic huh)

  • dunno leh.. somehow or rather.. i feel that singaporean uni students life is more hectic than the uni students life in australia.. though we're busy.. it's only at times.. when projects, tests and all the crappy stuff takes place.. but to u all.. like everyday is a warfield like tat.. dunno leh.. it's just my feeling.. dunno right a not..
